A 19-year old from Los Angeles has designed an Ocean Cleanup Array that could clear over 7 million tons of plastic waste from the worlds’ oceans. A recently completed study at the Azores Islands indicates that Boyan Slat’s plan for the array works. if applied to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, it could clean up half the plastic in just 10 years. »
