According to HomeGain's annual home improvement and staging survey, 6 projects under $1000 that give sellers the biggest return for their money are:
1. Cleaning and decluttering counter tops, removing personal items, and organizing closets and shelves.
2. Brightening by cleaning all windows inside and out, replace old curtains, update lighting fixtures and remove anything that might block light from the windows.
3. Smart Staging by rearranging furniture, bring in new accessories and incorporate artwork.
4. Landscape Enhancements by adding bark mulch, bushes, and flowers. Also, ensuring current plants and grass are well-cared for and manicured.
5. Repairing plumbing leaks under the sink and repair electrical outlets that are not working property. In addition, replace old plug points with new safety fixtures.
6. Replace work carpets and steam-clean dirty carpets.
